273 miles to be exact, around the Central Coast, with lunch at the Madonna Inn. Figured I best get a ride in before leaving for the Alps…needed to break in my new, fancy riding jacket and practice a few twisties. The riding jacket is really nice—but—I missed riding in leather. I am so used to the weight of it that riding in the textile jacket made me feel less safe. Though that is just silly as this has armor all over it and my leather-none of my other jackets- do. Given we do not know that type of weather we will encounter it is best to bring my fancy jacket as it is more versatile. Now to the twisties, not a whole lot, more sweepers on this ride but after leading us down a lovely side road-that turned to gravel- then gratefully back to road, the twisties appeared.
12 bikes went on this ride. A pretty big group.
Not pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but representative of some of the tight turns we will encounter.
Then off to lunch and of course a smooshed Madonna Inn penny!
Next post from Europe…
