Mt. Wilson. A day of twists and turns.

I hadn’t ridden with the CCR (Cal Coast Riders– http://calcoastriders.com/menu.html) group for a long time.  Almost 2 years.  But this ride looked interesting so I tagged along.  I know their penchant for taking the longest way to get to one single point and this ride was no different.

The day started out cold and AGAIN I didn’t wear my heated liner.  What is wrong with me?  Luckily I put on my wooley-T and it wasn’t too bad.

A nice blue sky….nothing to worry about here.

My favorite, a tunnel, what a great ride.

Fluffy clouds.  I love fluffy clouds.  Wait…are those clouds or fog?  I was going to fast to figure it out

Hmmmm, not fluffy clouds.  Cold dense fog.  Ha ha.  That’s okay we’re almost there.

High above the fog it was actually a nice day.

This solar telescope is simply amazing.

And here we are after eating at the Cosmic Cafe and learning an awful lot about telescopes.

Time to go and the fog has now joined us on the mountain.  Well this isn’t too bad.  How bad can it really get?

Oh, that bad.

Oh, that bad.

That was one wild ride down the mountain.

After 197 miles of twists and turns, with a group that rides fast, even though they call it moderate, my ocean finally emerges. Home sweet home!
