To celebrate the first day in the 70’s Rocky and I decided to take a quick spin around Ojai and up into the mountains. Rocky left San Luis Obispo while it was 36 degrees and by the time he got to my doorstep it was a balmy 70. We started out on 150 with a connection to 126 then the plan was to go to the 23 and up into the mountains. However, the wind changed my mind almost immediately Right up until we hit the 126 it was a languid ride. But once we turned onto the 23 that is when the winds kicked in badly, cross winds blew at irregular intervals, and it was only going to get worse, so not more than 35 seconds on the 23 I said “Enough.”
We turned around and just back tracked to home after a brief 100 mile jaunt.
Here is a picture of Rocky. I was trying to get both of us. Guess using the zoom was a bad idea…
Here is a picture of Lake Casitas…
The next preparatory ride is scheduled for April (I think I have a failed O ring so off to chase the oil leak). Then the ride of 2013 to British Columbia in July.
Stay tuned…
